Product Description
Moisture buildup in walls or floors? With the METOFIX VM 128, you can measure how dry or wet the walls or floors are. This makes it easy to detect moisture caused by poor cavity wall insulation or condensation from airtight construction. A moisture measurement is also useful for determining the moisture content of finishing materials (gypsum, concrete, anhydrite) after processing.
Non-destructive Moisture Meter for all Building Materials
The VM128 is a non-destructive moisture meter for hard materials and materials that should not be damaged, such as concrete, cement, wood, and other building materials.
The VM128 is suitable for:
- identifying moisture spots in floors, walls, and ceilings;
- determining if a surface is suitable for covering or painting;
- measuring the moisture content of finishing materials after processing;
An Accurate Measurement for the Correct Values
As with all measuring instruments, an accurate measurement is important for correct values. A single measurement doesn’t tell you much. By taking multiple measurements, you can compare them. Based on the theory ‘a surface can be evenly dry but not evenly wet,’ you can determine if a wall or floor is dry. Are all the values the same? Then the surface is dry. If the VM128 shows different values, you know which areas are still damp or where there is a moisture problem. Note that the meter measures 4 cm deep, and the measurements can be influenced by underlying (floor) heating, copper pipes, rebar, or old tiling.
Measuring with the Correct Value
The VM128 displays the measured values on a relative scale (0-100) by default. For some materials, such as plaster, concrete, anhydrite, and wood, it displays the measured values in percentages. Keep in mind that minerals and salts in the material can affect the measurements. The measurement of the VM128 is an indication. Do you want 100% certainty of the correct moisture percentage? Then have a Calcium Carbide measurement performed.
The METOFIX VM128 moisture meter comes in a sturdy case.
